June 20, 1955 a club pro of a Public course in davenport Iowa beat the best golfer of his generation in his prime, Jack fleck over Ben Hogan.  Fleck was club pro at a tiny 9 hole course on the mississippi river called Credit Island, which due to river flooding has been closed.  Yet history is not lost, the greatest vicoty by an IOWAN sports figure is to be celebrated.
